Job Summary

Requires basic concern for quality of care and helping the drug dependent. Has a belief in human potential for positive growth, as well as a willingness to coordinate and work cooperatively with others. Will be required to have knowledge in the area of Urinalysis testing and collection and storage of urinalysis.This position requires collecting Urine specimen from males.

Required Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

                                            ~ AND ~

  • One (1) year experience in drug abuse treatment setting and be proficient in computer skills including knowledge of word and a spreadsheet program.

 ~ OR ~

  • Any combination of education and experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.


Essential Functions

  • Monitors clients that will participate in Toxicology testing, collect and store urine samples as per
  • policy and procedure and documents results.
  • Performs crisis intervention and reports all problems to the supervisor.
  • Assists staff members to deliver services, make referrals to appropriate social service agencies, filing, and documenting as directed.
  • Responsible for monitor inside and outside of facility and be watchful throughout the shift.
  • Conducts checks on clients during normal day hours and when client attending clinic for dosing individual or group therapy.
  • Works weekday and weekend shifts and can be depended upon to work when called or scheduled as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Cooperates with other shift personnel to ensure smooth operation of facility and ensures safety of residents and security of building during shift.
  • Sensitivity and ability to work with people of various races, cultures and socioeconomic levels.
  • Ability to manage client behavior, crisis situations and apply conflict resolution skills to situations.
  • Carries out any and all other assignments to meet the goals and objectives of Aliviane, Inc.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

 Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be drug free and willing to take a urine toxicology samples as required to work in Drug Free workplace as defined by federal government guidelines.
  • Clear or acceptable criminal history and substance abuse history that could be judged as detrimental to clients.
  • Continuing education as required by Aliviane Inc., DSHS, and other funding/licensing agencies.
  • Must read, understand and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Conformity with client rights to confidentiality as protected under CFR 42, Chapter 1,and Part 2 and HIPPA Privacy rules is mandatory.
  • Willingness to network and participate in other community service agency projects,speaks before the public, and become a member of work-related organizations.
